ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS PRO SERIES CONTOUR KIT REVIEW

If you read my 'What I Got for Christmas' post you'll know that one of the items I got was the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. I have used it every single day since receiving it and I am absolutely in love!

I have the 'light' palette and the colours are just perfect for me. I tend to use the Vanilla shade as a normal powder, dusting it all over my face and the Banana shade under my eyes as it's simply amazing at brightening the under-eye area. I use the shades Java and Havana to bronze up my skin and I use the more grey shade, Fawn, for contouring my cheeks, forehead, nose and jawline as it creates more natural looking shadows. My least favourite powder is the only shimmery one in the palette: Sand. Although it is beautiful, I'm a sucker for a really strong highlight and have been loving one of Mac's Mineralize Skin Finishes to achieve this instead. Having said that, if you prefer a much more subtle highlight then this shade will be perfect for you - the shimmer is so, so fine!

The powders them self are so easy to work with. They feel so silky on the skin, blend like a dream and don't crease. They basically make my face look flawless while also ensuring my makeup lasts all day without having to do much touching-up. When applying the makeup, the brushes I use are all Real Techniques. I use the setting brush to dust Vanilla all over my face and Banana under my eyes.I then use my contour brush to contour anywhere I want to contour, particularly using this brush the contour the sides of my nose. I then use my sculpting brush the blend out any contour I previously applied and to add a little more to my temples if I feel it's necessary. Finally, whether I use Sand to highlight or another highlighter I use my Fan brush to apply it to my cheek and brow bone and my finger to bring a little down my nose and on my cupids bow.

I'm hoping to do a little makeup look using this palette soon which I can post on my blog, however I haven't quite decided how I want to do it yet and I haven't done anything like this before so hopefully I'll get round to doing it soon. I also hope you enjoyed this post and you got a little insight into how much I love this kit and how I use it!

RELAXING, EATING, HAVING A GREAT TIME

A couple of days after Christmas my family and I departed from our home in Leicestershire and set off for Scarborough where we planned to have a relaxing couple of days by the sea. The time there was spent by flicking through channels on the smart TV, eating our own body weight in Quality Streets, taking a dip in the hot tub and splashing our Christmas cash downtown. It really was nice to get away and spend time with those I love the most. Since I enjoyed it so much and thought the cabin we stayed in was absolutely beautiful I decided to take some snaps to share here, on my blog. As you can imagine, after we had unpacked the place became a little more untidy than when we first arrived, but I couldn't ask all 8 members of my family to hide their things while I took a few photos - so I guess you'll just have to ignore the teddies, makeup bags and other little bits and try to imagine how lovely the lodge was before we had barged in.
The lodge itself had 4 bedrooms - 2 master bedrooms with a king/queen size bed and en-suit. The other two bedrooms had two single beds. Then there was obviously a kitchen dining room, master bathroom and living room space.

I know this sort of post isn't everybody's cup of tea, and that's okay. I just thought it would be nice as I quite like sharing little snippets of my life on my blog.

REFLECTING ON 2015 & HOPES FOR 2016

So, I firstly want to wish you all a very happy new year! I also want to take a moment to say well done. Life can be tough sometimes and the fact that we have made it through another year is a huge achievement. Whether you had an amazing 2015 or a terrible one, I'm a strong believer that everything happens for a reason and there is nothing stopping you from making 2016 your year! I have been thinking about writing this post for some time now and I feel like if I tried to write all my thoughts down there would just be a pile of words which didn't make sense. Instead, I have decided to do the New Years Tag. I won't be tagging anyone in particular but if you feel this is something you want to do then please go ahead and let me know!

1. If you could look back on one memory from last year that you wish you could relive, what would it be?
I wish I could do the whole of 2015 again. It's crazy how much things have changed in a year. I have lost so many people I was close to and it would be nice to just go through the whole year all over again.

2. What was one new years resolution that you accomplished?

My new years resolution last year was to worry less because everything always works out okay in the end. I feel this was accomplished more towards the end of the year as I did panic a LOT while I was doing my exams.

3. 3 words to describe last year?

Successful, important and stressful.

4. Best music related creation/inspiration last year by an artist in your opinion?

Anything that Justin Bieber has recently released. He has changed the game completely!

5. Something your looking forward to this coming year?

Driving!!!

6. What did last year teach you?

Don't surround yourself with negative people. Be yourself and never be embarrassed to say or do anything because if it's going to make you happy it's so worth it!

7. What was your most worn clothing item of last year?

My black Joni jeans - I wore them to the point of them ripping because of the friction when I walked...

8. If you had to sum up your year in one word, what would it be?

Eventful.

9. What are you hoping for more of this coming year?

Spending time with friends, revising (because I suck at it) and actually going out and doing things.

10. What are you hoping for less of this coming year?

Stress - I don't deal well under pressure.

11. Best book you read last year?

I'm not going to lie... I'm not a massive fan of reading and have only read one book, so it would have to be that: The Handmaid's Tale.

12. What is your New Year’s resolution for the upcoming year?

Drink more water, manage my money better and get a proper skin care routine because mine is basically none existent.
